  • There are three ways to book:

  • This will be different for everyone depending on your circumstances. For some it may take 3-6 sessions to notice some changes. For others some some deeper concerns it may take longer. Be assured I will be working and tracking this with you.

  • At this stage we do not accept Medicare or private health rebates.

    Medicare plans are currently only for clinical psychologist and social workers. PACFA are working hard to change this. Be assured I am a qualified, registered counsellor and my rate is competitive to an out of pocket cost to you.

    Private Health insurance rebates will be available in the near future.

  • Calm Connections Counselling is not a registered NDIS provider however for those with a self-directed or plan managed NDIS plan, I am able to provide you with invoices to enable you to attain reimbursement for my service.

  • We understand that life happens and that sometimes you cannot make an appointment, we do however ask that you call 24 hours prior to cancel so as not to attract a 50% fee. If you cannot come in, online sessions are also offered for your convenience.

Systemic Family Approach

  • Yes absolutely, working with a family systems lens means that working with one person and the factors that shape you can have a ripple effect out to your relationships and other areas of life. 

  • Yes it works for any family struggle with an aim to examine underlying patterns keeping you stuck.  It can assist with:

    • Behavioural and symptomatic problems in children

    • Parenting Issues and conflict

    • Mariital issues

    • Anxiety and Depression

    • Stress and Trauma

    • Grief, Loss and Pain

    • Challenges across the lifespan including divorce, separation, job joss or financial difficulties

    • Life transition for individuals across the lifespan

    • Burnout, overhelm and Well-being

  • Change takes time as we are working together to understand the patterns that have kept us stuck for a long time.  This work goes deeper than symptom management and aims to work on lasting behavioural changes that break generational cycles.

  • The first session of systemic family therapy is an extended session of 90min.  It focuses on building rapport, establishing safety and understanding the problem within the context of family and other relationships.  We will work together to map out family dynamics, define goals and identify patterns of interactions to create a collaborative path forward.
