Accidental Counselling Training
At Calm Connections Counselling we recognise how important it is to look after the well being of those who help others.
Accidental Counselling Training is a 3 hour training session that helps people in the helping profession gain necessary skills in responding to people they care for while understanding their scope of practice, boundaries and self-care.
In this interactive and engaging workshop participants will;
Understand what accidental counselling skills is and the basic counselling skills that are required to engage in empathic communication
Develop an understanding of trauma and the importance of responding in a trauma informed manner
Understand the scope of their role including their boundaries, limits, ethical considerations and when to refer to professional services
Develop an awareness of burnout and the importance of practicing self-care and lifestyle strategies that reduce compassion fatigue
